PRIVACY STATEMENT

General information

The following notes provide a simple overview of what happens to your online identifiers when you visit our website. Personal data are all data through which you can or could be personally identified.

Data collection on our website

Who is responsible for the data collection on this website?

The data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator (data controller). You can find its contact details in the imprint/legal notice of this website.

How do we collect your information?

Data is automatically collected by our IT systems when you visit our website. These are mainly technical data (e.g. Internet browser, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing network, time of the server request, IP address). The data (server log files) are automatically collected as soon as you access our website via so-called cookies. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive which will automatically send us the server log files.

Cookies cannot be used to start programs or to transmit viruses to a computer. Based on the information contained in cookies, we can make navigation easier for you and enable the correct display of our web pages.

The data we collect will not be linked to other information about you without your consent nor passed on to third parties, unless to a data processor bound by a processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 of the GDPR.

Of course, you can also view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are regularly set to accept cookies. In general, you can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via the settings of your browser. Please use the help functions of your Internet browser to find out how you can change these settings. Please note that some features of our website may not work if you have disabled the use of cookies.

Record of the approximate regional users’ location

Based on our legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR) we use the Maxmind GeoIP2 Lite City geolocation service which is provided by MaxMind, Inc, Waltham, MA, 14 Spring St., Suite 3, Waltham, Massachusetts 02451, USA. By using Maxmind GeoIP2 Lite City Maxmind, Inc. determines the users’ approximate location by means of their IP address being transmitted to MaxMind, Inc. The purpose is to facilitate the technical implementation of our website, to offer website contents in accordance with the users’ location and thereby to provide demand-oriented, user-specific information. The users’ IP addresses will be allocated to their approximate location data based on the country of which the IP address originates.

SCOPE has entered into a data processing agreement with MaxMind, Inc. to ensure compliance with applicable European data protection law.

We use Maxmind GeoIP2 Lite City only with activated IP anonymization.

Google Analytics

Based on our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimization and operation of our online offer in the sense of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f. of the GDPR), we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland („Google“). Google uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about users‘ use of the website might be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

SCOPE has entered into a data processing agreement with Google to ensure compliance with applicable European data protection law.

Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate the use of our online services by users, to compile reports on the activities within this online service and to provide us with other services associated with the use of this online service and the Internet. Anonymous user profiles can be created from the processed data.

We only use Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled. This means that the IP address of the user is processed in an abbreviated form by Google within member states of the European Union or the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases the IP address will be fully transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

The IP address transmitted by the user’s browser is not merged with other Google data. Users may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on their browser; in addition, users can prevent Google to collect data generated by the cookie which is related to their use of the online service and to process this data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

The data Google collects about users’ use of online services will be deleted or anonymized after 14 months.

Integration of third-party services

We may integrate videos via YouTube within our website. The Videos are embedded in a way to prevent the setting of the third-party provider’s cookies until an active click on the playbutton occurs. By clicking on the play button, you consent to Youtube setting cookies on the device you are using, which may also be used to analyze user behavior for market research and marketing purposes. What purpose do we use your data for based on what legal basis?

The collected data are processed in particular for the following purposes:

  • ensuring a trouble-free connection of the website,
  • ensuring a smooth use of our website,
  • evaluation of system security and stability as well as
  • for other administrative purposes.

The processing of the data is based on our legitimate interest related to the aforementioned purposes for data collection. We do not use your data to draw conclusions about you personally. Only us, the data controller and, if applicable, the processor, are recipients of the data. The legal basis for the corresponding data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) of the Data Protection Regulation.

Provided that the above data is made anonymous, i.e. the data is changed in such a way that it is practically impossible to assign it to you or another person, we may statistically evaluate it in order to optimise our website and the technology behind it.

Contact options

If you contact us via indicated emails, we have a legitimate interest in the processing of the transmitted data. Those will not be passed on to third parties. The data received via email will not be linked with other data that may be collected via Cookies. The legal basis for the processing of data transmitted in the course of sending an e-mail is Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO. If the e-mail contact aims at the conclusion of a contract, the additional legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 (1) lit. b DSGVO. The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer necessary to achieve the purpose for which they were collected.

What rights do you have with regard to your data?

You have the right to free information about your stored personal data, their origin and recipients and the purpose of data processing and, if necessary, a right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data at any time within the scope of the applicable legal provisions. You can contact us at any time at the address given in the imprint/legal notice if you have any further questions on the subject of personal data.

In the event of breaches of data protection law, you are entitled to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. The responsible supervisory authority for data protection issues is the data protection officer of the federal state in which our company is based:

We reserve the right to adapt this privacy statement so that it always complies with current legal requirements or to implement changes to our services in the privacy statement, e.g. when introducing new services. The new privacy statement will then apply for your next visit.
